60 (Epic Quests, Episodes 1-3) > Good Caster

Episode 1

1️⃣ Talk to the Recruiter in Klik'Anon.

2️⃣ Talk to Maji'kot in Elemental Towers (W), along the shoreline, close to a tower where the 55 Mage Spell Giver is located.

3️⃣ Get two Ghostly Goo's off powerful undead in Centaur Valley (E) — Wandering Spectres and Wandering Ghosts. Head north up the river, along the east side from Blackwater. You will eventually see the broken bridge with the undead mobs on both sides.

4️⃣ Return the goo to Magi'kot and he tells you next he'll need two enchanted war beads, which are from goblins in Guardian Forest (NW). When I first got there it was a roaming sea of light blue goblin assassins and soothsayers. After a few minutes of killing them, the camp spawned yellow/white versions of these around a fixture which in the middle has an Elder goblin spawn, which didn't drop anything different than the regular mobs. Farm these until you have two of the beads.

5️⃣ Upon returning the beads to Magi'kot, you are sent on the final step of this first epic-sode — finding the heart and brain of Aktana the Flamekissed, and bringing back his soul. Lavastorm Mountains (E). You will need to farm Animated Lava. After getting the heart, head north to a Gargoyle statue of Aktana. Place the heart into the statue and it will become an unconnable roamer. Run north around the mountain to find a group of Gargoyle Patrollers that have now spawned. Farm these patrollers until a Fire Imp Protector spawns, which will eventually drop the Brain. Return to the unconnable statue to spawn Aktana the Flamekissed from a popup. Return to Magi'kot with Aktana's Soul to receive 20 million XP.

NOTE: IF YOU ALREADY HAVE THE AKTANA LOOT FROM A PREVIOUS KILL If you already have loot on Flamekiss, all that you need to do is farm up the heart, talk to the gargoyle, RH, and turn in the soul. This goes for the other classes that need and have the soul pre-looted. You do not have to farm up the Imps again for the brain. (TY Monoxxide, Psychopathic Rydaz on CLW)

Episode 2

Start off talking to Magi in Element Towers (W). He tells you to stop bandit problems in FP. Go to FP, out the north gate (by the blacksmith), and wait for the 3 bandits to spawn. Make sure you have 500 tunar on you so they can pick your pockets (otherwise you won't get the popup). The spawn time is variable; the 3 bandits walk from the north gate, through FP, and out by the coach, then despawn. That is all the time you have to assemble your group and kill them. If you get the popup etc. but don't succeed, don't worry — you can just wait for the next respawn and try again. You don't need to kill all 3 bandits, just the one in the middle (the brigand), and loot his coinpurse. NOTE: You must be in the KS group for the brigand to advance your quest.

Return to the Magi, he will tell you to get 3 gems to summon Vylimuza.

To get the 3 gems you will need 6 fragments in all:

  • 3 are random drops off Enchanting Sirens in Kerra (SW), West Toxx (SW), and the Vastly Deep (E);
  • you'll need to loot 3 keys from the Sirens to open the chests, which is where you will find the other three gems. The easiest way to get your keys is to keep farming sirens until you have three keys in your inventory, then travel to each of the three siren locations and open your chests.
  • Note on farming sirens: a tank has a hard time at sirens due to their mana-sucking power. The easiest way is a 3 pet group with resist cleric — you can send the pets right in; they won't aggro the sirens beside the one you are killing. Alchs are handy at sirens with their breathe water pots, and Ench are pretty handy if they come with a Rhino 🙂

In your inventory now, you should have all six fragments:

Logic, Passion, Complacency, Calculation, Motivation, and Restraint.

Now, buy a standard Jeweler kit (any kit) and fuse your gems as follows:

  • Logic + Calculation
  • Passion + Motivation
  • Complacency + Restraint

After that you'll have 3 gems, all ready to turn in to the Magi.

When you turn them in, you have to fight Vylimuza of the Tide. Vylimuza crits for 1200, melees for 1020, has a 1k AoE, and nukes for 363 with very high HP — you'll need a raiding party for this. CR nukes are only nukes (400 with max CR).

After the Tide is dead, loot your soul up and turn in.

You'll get 10k, flagged for the last part, and 35 million XP.

Episode 3

Talk to Magi`Kot. He sends you to find Boldunder in the deserts of Odus.

Head to North Barren Coast (C). At the base of a hill, near a large depression, you should get a popup telling you that you feel the ground rumbling. Walking away from the hill toward the depression, you should get two more popups, then Boldunder spawns and tears you a new one.

You'll need a good-sized force to take out Boldunder. He resists all nukes and hits hard. We had a 60 SHA kite him without too much trouble, but it took a while to bring him down.

Note: CS finds it easiest to just MT Boldunder; Mory tanked him without too much trouble, and tanking him is a much more efficient and time-saving tactic.

He drops 4 souls. Bring one back to Mag`Kot, and share the rest with the nice folks who got owned along with you.

Note: If you're having trouble with your popups, or just want to respawn Boldunder to farm or to get more drops, just delete your quest and relog with Magi'Kot and you're set to go.

When you turn in the soul, Magi`Kot tells you to speak with him again to port to the Plane of Sky to witness the ultimate summoning.

Gather up a sizable raid force (20+). The Good Caster doing the quest will hand out gems that will port you to PoS (the usual first island, where the Isle of Wonder port is). Once everyone's ready, talk to Magi`Kot again, and he'll spawn Ahriaana the Ultimate. She looks like a gigantic ghilan, but fights like Boldunder on steroids. Since the update, nukes do damage!

She is, so far, impossible to MT (those she has aggro on, she ports off the island), and takes forever to kite (over an hour). CS has done her a few times and finds the best way to kill her is to just pet her — it takes around half an hour to kill her this way: have all casters send in pets to attack at the same time. Keep a secondary pet on your spell bar as your first pet might die so quickly that the recast time on your first pet hasn't been met. Don't HoT your pet, or when the pet dies she'll follow the aggro back to you. Just keep recasting pets (have the two biggest pets on your toolbar) and sending them in against her. Tanks shouldn't taunt, just do melee damage, and SK's should use all their debuffs on the mob. If you don't kill her within one hour, she full heals.

She does port people who have aggro (not all the time) — meet up with the Good Caster quester next time they get killed and get another gem to go back. Anyway, kill her. She'll drop 8 "torn journal page"s for 8 lucky questers. After she's dead (take an XP pot), head NW of the IoW port to talk to Magi`Kot's ghost (roams near pagoda).

Note: If you got a drop from Ahriaana but weren't on that part of your epic, and now you are, this is how you complete your quest: The Magi'kot in Elemental Towers will send you to PoS. Speak to him again up there and spawn Ahriaana. If you wait an hour she will despawn and the ghost will appear. Take an XP pot, speak to the ghost and turn in your torn page. The ghost spawns at a different spot from Magi — he spawns on the opposite side of the pagoda and roams.

You're done! Visit your quest NPC by the lake near the Shon-To Monastery outside of Moradhim. When you first talk to him he'll ask if you're ready to reset your TP and CM's (be prepared). Then he'll give you an option of 3 spells — two are similar to the one you picked at 49, and a new spell. Then you'll be sent to another NPC to get your weapon.
